Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church is seeking a full-time Director of Lifespan Religious Education (DLRE) to take the vibrant RE program we have today and give it renewed vision and leadership to meet the challenges of spiritual growth in our thriving church community. Candidates should be familiar with the latest UU curricula and teaching methods and be committed to UU principles and philosophies.
BAUUC is a growing mid-sized church that consistently ranks religious education as a top priority. We recognize the importance of a robust RE program to attract and serve young families looking for their first church home and life-long UU's continuing to explore their faith. We consider the administration of our RE program to be a professional position, and we expect our DLRE to possess or pursue credentialing through the UUA Religious Education Credentialing Program.
BAUUC was recently awarded a grant to become the first distance-learning center in our District. Our DLRE will need the technical literacy to envision new outreach opportunities afforded by this infrastructure and find creative ways to use online social networking tools to engage the community.
We are recognized as a UUA Green Sanctuary and Welcoming Congregation and are committed to the UUA Fair Compensation Guidelines.
A complete Job Description is available DLRE Job Description.
Additional details about the church, congregation and the roles and expectations of the DLRE are available in the UUA DRE Settlement System Questionnaire.
Rev. Dr. Matt Tittle, our Senior Minister, will be attending the SWUUC 2009 Fall Leadership Training in Glen Rose, Texas. Matt will be available to interested candidates for informal discussions regarding our RE program and congregation. Please contact Rev. Dr. Matt Tittle to arrange a meeting time.
This position is open until filled. For more information or to submit a letter of interest and resume, please contact the DLRE Search Committee: .
