Wednesday Night Children’s RE

Childcare is provided for children through age 4 beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Special classes will be offered for children age 5 through 5th grade starting at 7:00 p.m.  These classes will range from catching frogs to star-gazing and special lessons taught by members of the congregation.

Multi-Culture Week

For over a decade we have provided our children and their friends a unique summer opportunity to visit other countries and cultures right here in our classrooms. This program is offered to children Pre-K through fifth grades and provides experiences in different cultures through activities, crafts, history, music and food.  The week culminates in a special program where the students present skits, songs and dance to share their experiences.

There is a fee to cover the costs of supplies and the meals.  Multi-Culture Week is usually held the second full week in July.

Our Whole Lives (O.W.L.)

Our Whole Lives is a series of ethically oriented sexuality education curricula.  O.W.L. covers topics and skills that both parents and students want to have available, but schools are less likely to cover. It helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior, and equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture.

The classes are taught by specially trained facilitators.  The planned schedule is:

1st & 2nd Grades: 2009/10
4th & 5th Grades: 2009/10
Jr. High School: 2010/11
High School: 2010/11
