Dear Member, Friend, or Visitor of Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church,
The construction on our new building is finally progressing. We have walls, a roof, a new parking lot, and a new look to our property. In a short time, renovations will begin in the Sanctuary, RE Area, and office spaces, making them unavailable for Sunday services for about six weeks in May and June.
During the renovations, Sunday services will move to Space Center Intermediate School, located at 17400 Saturn Lane, Houston. The school is less than a mile from the church; a map and directions are shown on the reverse side of this letter. To view a map in a pop up window click Map to
Space Center Intermediate School.
Services at the school will start May 11th (Mother's Day) and extend approximately until June 15th (Father's Day). There will be a single service at 10:30 am, with Religious Education and child care available.
Butch Cockrell, Chair of the Building Committee, has been working hard to line up this space for us, and the Worship and Membership Committees are busy getting ready for the move. There may be a few minor bumps off-site, but we'll still have our usual high quality services, RE, and child care.
The construction has already affected many groups, and it’s about to affect Sunday services. But in a short time, our temporary move will be over, the addition and renovations will be done, and we’ll be back in our Sanctuary again.
Again, starting Sunday, May 11th, please go to Space Center Intermediate School, children included, for service at 10:30 am. If you go to the church, you'll miss everyone!
In Faith,
Steve Baier, Worship Committee Chair
Kathy Charles, Membership Committee Chair
Butch Cockrell, Building Committee Chair
P.S. There are flyers circulating that show Space Center Intermediate School located on Space Center Blvd. This was an error. The school is on Saturn Lane. Please disregard the flyers with the error, and be sure to use the map on the back of this letter.
